Lava caves, Lanzarote

Lanzarote is known as the island of the volcanoes.

La Corona volcano in Haria looks like the biggest and most menacing one of all.

Amongst the sea of lava created from this volcano there are many collapsed entrances into lava tunnels.

We entered a tunnel that is not on tourists maps and is not prepared for mass tourism like the well known cave of "La cueva de los verdes". This cave was wild and not many people know about its location.

The lava flow of this volcanoes created underground tunnels where once lava used to flow.

It´s an easy cave to explore but some places have caved in and you have to squezee through.

After about 2 hours of total darkness you come out on the other side.

We went on this expedition with a great group of people we meet on the internet. For more information and a guide check out http://www.adventurelanzarote.com/
